Puget Sound Regional Transit Authority (Sound Transit) operates bus, commuter and light rail services in the region and constructs capital projects in support and expansion of those services. It is responsible for designing, building, operating, and maintaining a regional mass transit system and associated infrastructure facilities in the Sound Transit district. Its current light rail system consists of two links, 1.6 mile Tacoma Link, and the 14.6 mile Central Link in Seattle.
Sound Transit 2, is a major expansion of the regional transit system adding 36 additional miles of new electric light rail. The University Link is a 3.5 mile extension currently under construction. This project supports Sound Transit for Safety Certification on various Link projects.
As part of the Safety Support team, Armand Consulting (ACI), works collaboratively with SQA Director and staff in support of safety certification for Link Projects responsible for providing an initial safety assessment, conducting Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA), design verifications (CCC), construction verifications (SCC), and providing recommendations for improvements for Sound Transit’s safety certification process. ACI is responsible to support Sound Transit safety certification:
• Conduct safety assessments and reports
• Detailed review of C/CIL,CIL, PHA, Criteria and specification conformance checklists
• Monitor and support the safety staff review and verification process
• Conduct PHA review, PHA, and workshop
ACI is responsible for conducting assessments of the Safety Certification process for additional Link Projects including, University Link, S.200th Link, Lynnwood Link, East Link, and Northgate Link.
