Crenshaw/LAX Transit Corridor serves the cities of Los Angeles, Inglewood, Hawthorne, and El Segundo as well as parts of unincorporated Los Angeles County. The Project is an 8.5 mile light-rail line extending from the intersection of Crenshaw and Exposition Boulevards to a connection with the Metro Green Line at the Aviation/LAX Station. It is comprised of double tracked right-of-way, the light rail system consists of sections of at-grade n-street guideway, at-grade within railroad right-of-way, aerial, and below-grade guideway sections, six stations, park and ride, facilities at three locations, utilities, landscaping, roadway improvements, and a maintenance & storage facility.

As part of the Project Management team, Armand Consulting (ACI), supports the Communications Systems Engineering efforts for the project. ACI is responsible for timely review and comment of the Design-Build Contractor’s submittals for compliance with the project requirements and technical specifications.
Crenshaw Communications system includes the following disciplines:

  • Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
  • Public Address (PA)
  • Visual Message Signs (VMS)
  • Communications Transmission System (CTS), including NMS, LAN, WAN, RPR and Ethernet Switching
  • Telephone System
  • Digital Radio- including tunnel radio
  • Interface with other systems and facilities
  • Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)
  • Gas and Seismic Detection and Monitoring
  • Intrusion Detection System
  • Fire Detection and Alarm System
